UK televisual broadcasting operation, ITV Studios has teamed up with blockchain specialists, Reality Gaming. They have joined their significant forces to bring iconic marionette superheroes, the Thunderbirds into the Web3 era.

In its latest incarnation, a fine set of Thunderbirds NFTs will form the ‘International Rescue Club’. An exceptional array of artworks featuring characters, vehicles and locations from the long running show. All of which, form the backbone of an exclusive Thunderbirds community with future-proofed utility at its core.

From now until August, the venerable team will host a wide array of competitions, giveaways and activities, all culminating in an amazing Thunderbirds NFT launch, as the resilient puppets make their way into the metaverse where lucky fans will finally get their hands on some of the exquisite collectibles.

The first set of utility hinted at in the collaboration sees each NFT activating an equivalent avatar in The Sandbox metaverse. This allows owners to perform acts of daring rescue in the virtual realm as well as engage in real life missions as they use the funds from the sale to aid charities all around the world.

Not bad for a television series founded in 1965 and based around the dextrous operation of marionette puppetry. THUNDERBIRDS ARE GO!
