Ever expanding virtual playground, The Sandbox, has partnered with cinematic heavyweight, Lionsgate Studios to form the first official movie collaboration in the burgeoning virtual environment. All the while, opening up the voxelated realm to a wide portfolio of movie franchises.

Within this exciting new partnership, The Sandbox will operate alongside Lionsgate and its long-time partner, Millennium Media. The powerhouses will work together to build an exceptional homage to movie greatness. Inside which, the likes of Hellboy will rub shoulders with John Rambo in an expansive world filled with movie-themed experiences.

The epic collaboration will kick things off by building the grand metropolis of ‘Action City’. A wide-eyed celebration of the celluloid medium inhabited by some of the greatest legends to grace the silver screen, including the cast of the Expendables, Mr Rambo, and loveable Satan, Hellboy.

Within this magnificent creation, The Sandbox will enable fans to jump into the skins of their favourite characters, as well as equip a number of highly functional accessories, all before fashioning their own self-made adventures and grandiose voxel escapades.

Going forwards, both Lionsgate and Millennium Media will work together to bring more of their properties into the metaverse and build additional urban areas based on the many genres of the movie industry. So, potentially, gamers could eventually flit between a film noir urban sprawl, dusty Western badlands and a macabre horror-scape. All from the comfort of The Sandbox metaverse.
