NFT REVIEW NEWS Jeff Koons Shoots for the Moon with Extraordinary NFT Project

World-renowned contemporary artist, Jeff Koons has unveiled his first ever NFT collection at this year’s Art Basel. An interesting concept that will most definitely shoot to the moon, but not necessarily in the way you may think.

During the latest rendition of the art event in Switzerland, Jeff took time to introduce his latest project, revealing 125 miniature moon sculptures developed through his own creative mind, and destined for the literal lunar surface. Therefore, blasting off in the near future courtesy of Elon Musk’s SpaceX spacefaring company and touching down 384k kilometres away on everyone’s second favourite celestial body.

Collectors reportedly forked out $2 million apiece to purchase these exclusive NFTs. Following the cosmic placement, they represent a digital certificate of authenticity, and entitle holders to a photograph of its new lunar location. All in addition to a moon sculpture with a gemstone marking its counterparts’ actual location.

Despite the sheer ambition of the project, some have questioned the environmental impact of such an otherworldly endeavour, with rocket launches coming with their own significant ecological question marks, along with the ramifications of scattering man-made debris on the lunar surface.
