Soaring into a game-changing union of digital collectibles and real-world experiences, Etihad Airways — the national carrier of the United Arab Emirates — is taking flight with its Web3 loyalty program ‘Horizon Club’ this September.

By enhancing its already existing EY-ZERO1 NFT collection with limited-edition Polygon assets, Etihad Airways is ready to prize travelers with complimentary access to Abu Dhabi International Airport lounges, priority check-ins, a 25% surge in Etihad Guest Miles and artworks of the famed aircraft ‘Boeing 787 Dreamliner’.

Aptly dubbed ‘Eithad: Mission Impossible’, the collectibles are bedecked with a Mission Impossible theme in line with the film’s promotional tour. Despite the loyalty program not gaining altitude until next month, 300 of these non-fungible tokens are ready for lift-off!

The Etihad Airways loyalty program and NFTs culminate in a strategic collaboration with the pioneering firm in real-world asset tokenization, Arcube, and the infrastructure company Crossmint, accelerating seamless transactions in both fiat and cryptocurrencies. 

Since its maiden takeoff in July 2022, Etihad’s EY-ZERO1 assets have been a gateway to exclusivity, granting NFT holders a yearly esteemed Etihad Silver Tier status and premium access to events like the Yas Marina Circuit Formula 1 race. Current holders can purchase an Eithad: Mission Impossible asset for $299 (~0.16 ETH) apiece, while new holders must fork out $349 (~0.188 ETH). 

As Web3 loyalty programs and blockchain-based reward solutions propel the aviation industry worldwide, it’s apparent that Etihad Airways is on a mission to chart the course, pioneering the travel sector one digital collectible at a time.
